There is something about childhood lovers

There is something about the childhood lovers that sets them apart from others. The fact that they know each other for so long. The fact that they are in contact with each other since a very young age. They know each other upside down and inside out. They know how the other one looked like in school uniforms with those (plates and ribbons – in case of a girl). And the most lovely thing is that when they met for the first time neither of them were conscious of the fact that they are going to be soul mates and hence they were completely themselves. Don’t know, but there is always a magic between the two which sort of makes jealous to the ones around them.

I have such a childhood friend who is extremely special to me. The rapport that the two of us share is really amazing. Call it destiny, instant connection, chemistry or whatever, that something was always there, that neither of us ever realized as kids. The countless Sundays spend together with our parents to each other’s house as kids is something that will be treasured with me forever. I really felt like laughing when mom told me few days back that we used to literally cry and whine when the time came to go back to our houses. We never wanted to get separated.

We used to get similar percentages till we were kids. Both of us used to score in the 80s most the times. But this did not continue for long as I suddenly dropped my percentage in my academics but this did not in anyway affected my general knowledge and thinking, its just I got a bit unlucky with the results.

Dad used to give timely news of him that he has scored such good marks and all. Oh and I forgot to mention his dad and my dad are the best of friends.

As time passed we were meeting less and less with each other and he went to another town for his bachelors and then masters.

But once after a very long gap when we met each other we were same as kids who were once inseparable and instant sparks were seen. During dinners at restaurants and all, we both used to get so much in to talking that we forget eating and that irritated the rest of the group. Lol

And the most amazing thing is that there is a really huge list of similarities between us. Both are first born child and hence both of us are quiet, sophisticate, introverts and peace loving. We just love books and can talk endlessly on books, books and only books. Both of us like to teach (though he is in a different profession) both of us are shy and hardly can be very socially active unless we are in a very close circle of friends. Both of us like music and movies too.

We are now in touch with emails and stuff and talk to each other on birthdays, that we have never missed ever and do meet when he visits home. I don’t know what he has in his mind and what he thinks of me. As of me, I really kind of like him but shall dare not speak to him expressing my feelings. And I know this for sure that we are not going to be soul mates. And even then I really thank god for giving me such a good friend.

Hey your blog was really sweet. One could really smell the freshness out of it. You seem to have a crush on this guy. Well I am not a relationship expert but I really think you must tell this guy your feelings. There is no harm even if he says no you guys can still be friends. If you don't tell him you may never know if he could really be your soul mate. Go ahead and do it..

Hi,this is Vikash and I really appreciate the way you have presented your feelings. And as far as your soul mate is concerned, I think it is not only agreeing to each others views but respect for each other views is what make two people soul mates. So first find out whether he has respect for your views or not, irrespective of the views being different and you also respect his views; similarities don't count in the long run. And another thing, you read my blog vikashthewriter.blogspot.com and left encouraging comments for my future endeavor. I will try to write better in the future. Thanks

@vikash
thanks for the comment ,
you are actually true , respecting each other's views and differences is certainly more important than the number of similarities two ppl share. as for thanking me for the appreciation of your writing, you truly deserve it!!!
